Created by Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal (D-WA7) and her staff, the Resistance Lab is a series of trainings that are developed specifically for this moment. In this first lab, we look at how non-violent movements around the world have responded to leaders who seize power in authoritarian ways and the most effective tools and tactics to utilize in these moments. Our goals are to help people understand how democracies fall and the most effective resistance movements that have challenged authoritarians and dictators; to turn anger, fear and frustration into action in the short-term while also preparing for a coordinated resistance movement for the longer term; and to build community across the country that can help grow our movement.

Folks are encouraged to park at either the Hannaford Plaza on Sand Creek Rd. or at Colonie Center and walk down. With that said, please be careful walking down Wolf Rd., there are sidewalks but traffic can be heavy on Wolf Rd. from time to time, so please be mindful of that.

Bring signs, bring cowbells, you know the drill. Let’s be peaceful, let’s be safe, and let’s show them that we don’t put up with them taking ICE contracts to deport people without due process.

NYS Sen. Patricia Fahy (D/WFP - Albany) and NYS Assembly Member Michaelle Solages (D - Elmont), Chair of the Black, Puerto Rican, Hispanic & Asian Legislative Caucus, will host a press conference urging the NY State Senate and Assembly to act on their legislation, the SAFE AIR Act (S.7960/A.8188), as ICE-contracted deportation flights begin and deportations without due process continue under the Trump administration’s use and interpretation of the Alien Enemies Act. Indivisible Albany members are encouraged to attend the press conference in support of this important legislative initiative!

Stand Up/Speak Out is holding a rally in Hudson on May 25 in response to the ongoing cuts to the federal workforce and services that support veterans, Social Security beneficiaries, and healthcare providers and patients in New York. The event hopes to encourage local citizens to gather, learn from one another, and sound the alarm that no one is safe in an America that has turned its back on its veterans, the elderly, and the ability of millions to access healthcare.
