We’re partnering with Sons of Liberty as part of Defend & Recruit’s Avelo Day of Action for a rally outside of the Offices of Albany County Executive Dan McCoy to demand that Albany County sever its relationship with Avelo Airlines. Avelo was welcomed with open arms by County officials in 2024, but the floundering discount air carrier now conducts deportation flights on behalf of ICE. Since May 2025, Avelo has abetted ICE’s abduction of thousands of our neighbors and community members, separating families and transporting chained men, women and children in violation of their civil and human rights. We are calling on all elected and appointed Albany County officials to stand with our migrant neighbors and against the inhumane actions of ICE and Avelo Airlines and we demand that Avelo’s relationship with Albany International Airport come to an immediate end.
