Leila Hasan, a resident of Hebron, the largest city in the occupied West Bank and a Holy City for followers of the Christian, Muslim and Jewish faiths. Laila will share stories about her historic and beautiful home. Laila is a co-founder of the Women in Hebron – a female operated embroidery cooperative in the heart of the Old City of Hebron. This women’s cooperative is more than income-generating for the 150 women who participate. This cooperative nurtures community-building while honoring the role of women in society. This is a space for women to gather, celebrate, mourn and navigate the reality of living under military occupation.

Laila brings with her items from the shop for you to enjoy and purchase. Embroidery sales support the 150 women and their families from 8 different villages in the West Bank.
